Mancaves Façade

Client: DIY Network
Location: Pine Hill, New Jersey
Project Manager: Greensaw Collaborative Effort

So Tony Siragusa says he wants a Mancave in his sports bar in north Jersey. He gives you three days to do it, and says he will be filming and interviewing over the course of your work. The episode will be televised nationally. "Two words," he says, as he rips down some vinyl cladding with one of his big paws. "Colorado Lodge."

We got cedar from a barn in Lancaster, redwood from water tanks for the tables, redwood from Schmidt's brewery in Philadelphia for the built-in bar, columns from a hotel in Lancaster for the portico, shingles from reclaimed southern yellow pine, and oak from 21st and South here in Philadelphia.

Working 18-hour days, staying in a Motel 6, we went to work. And work it was - chaos reigned on that sight. Thank god we had Cornice the squirrel to keep us sane.

Perhaps the best line, which unfortunately did not make the cut on the final TV show, was Tony asking Niko why he first got into woodworking. "I like wood," was Niko's response, to the immense pleasure of the TV crew. About as straightforward as an Albanian can get.
