Greensaw sees each project as a collaboration between contractor and client. Our mission is to use sustainable building techniques to convert the client's expectations into a finished product. Drawing on our expertise in both new and old building techniques, and working with reclaimed materials, we help clients conceive a uniquely personalized and beautiful finished product.

We strive to be a different type of contractor. From initial contact until the project is complete, we engage in continuous dialogue with the client to ensure that the design is the best of all possible designs, that once underway, the project remains on track, and is executed in a manner consistent with the client's wishes. We see ourselves both as promoters of sustainable building, as well as fabricators of the client's vision.

Concretely, this means engagaing with the client in an iterative design process whereby architectural drawings and renderings are produced to facilitate discussion. Herein lies the basis for a contract whereby clients receive a comprehensive scope of work, a timeline and an outline of costs.

At Greensaw, we understand how disruptive a construction project can be. We therefore strive to stay on schedule, maintain a consistent crew on site, remain on budget, and routinely provide status reports on the state of the project. We do our best to care for and protect the building and maintain a clean site. This, in our eyes, is to be expected of a contractor.

We maintain a fully functioning woodworking shop in Northern Liberties, and welcome visits from our friends and clients. We have a variety of wood, furniture and hardware samples. Our design meetings often take place around our oversized, Union League bowling alley table.

At Greensaw, we nurture our relationships. We share a building with Greenable, we have wonderful relationships with Provenance, Resource Exchange, Revolution Recovery and many other local businesses essential for the responsible, green building endeavor.
